Committee reviews RDI's senior housing proposal

Other Committee · Meeting of August 5, 2026

Deerfield senior housing panel presses developer on storage and drainage before next review. The Ad Hoc Senior Housing Committee, led by Lili Dwight, reviewed a subcommittee's scoring of a proposal from respondent RDI for a new senior housing project at the St. James site, finding it "advantageous to very advantageous" on most requirements but flagging closet storage, corridor width and snow drainage near Bloody Brook as open questions.

Member Pam Predmore raised an accessibility complaint from a Sanderson Place resident whose folding closet doors blocked wheelchair access. The committee approved its July 29 minutes 2-0-1 and voted 3-0 to cancel its August 12 meeting in favor of a Sanderson Place resident walkthrough, resuming August 19. A separate removal RFP for the St.

James site went before the Select Board the same night.
