Senior Housing Panel Expects RFP Contract by March
Other Committee 2026-01-14 Part 2 · Meeting of January 14, 2026
Deerfield senior housing panel expects RFP contract by March, eyes historic church for public forums. The Ad Hoc Senior Housing Committee, led by Lili Dwight with members Pam Predmore and Kathy Sylvester, voted 3-0 Wednesday to approve its January 7 minutes and to adjourn until next week; members Blake Gilmore and Caroline Ness were absent. Dwight said a regional planning agency has agreed to complete a senior housing site assessment by the first week of March once a contract is signed, and that the Conway School of Landscape Design is planning a February 5 public meeting on affordable and senior housing.
The committee is weighing whether to hold future forums in the town's former Congregational Church instead of Town Hall, though its sanctuary "needs to be something like 75 pounds per square foot" structurally reinforced before it can reopen, Dwight said.
