CCI coordinates updates on renewable energy and housing projects

Connecting Community Initiative · Meeting of January 15, 2026

DEERFIELD — Connecting Community Initiative coordinates updates on renewable energy and housing development. The Town Planner's office signed a contract with Conway School of Landscape Design to establish Deerfield as a Rural Housing Community of Choice through March and secured a Brownfields grant for a Senior Housing Site. The new library, following its soft opening this past Saturday, will reach full opening in April and may feature as many as 160 solar panels, potentially qualifying for a $100,000 LEED certification incentive.

The committee reviewed the MVP Final Report on 100-year storm mitigation due January 27, with subsequent grant applications to be reviewed February 12.
