DEERFIELD — Capital Improvements Planning Committee elects new chair and advances four projects. Mark Brennan was elected chair, replacing resigning Blake Gilmore in a 4-0-1 vote. The committee unanimously recommended $230,000 for a Freightliner dump and plow truck, $200,000 for Tilton Library rooftop solar, and $136,000 for 1821 Meeting House clock tower refurbishment and engineering design on the FY26 and FY27 Capital Improvement Plans.
DPW Superintendent Matthew Morse presented the plow truck project, originally budgeted at $325,000 but reduced after the committee discussed securing an equipped unit from a Maine dealership. Trevor McDaniel presented the Old Deerfield Wastewater Treatment Plant project at $9.7 million, outlining aging infrastructure, system failure risk, and regulatory implications.
