Capital Improvements Committee assigns priorities to FY27 and FY28 projects

Deerfield Capital Improvements Committee votes to prioritize eight capital projects. The committee unanimously assigned Priority 1 ranking to three projects: a $73,000 police cruiser, DES flooring, and library rooftop solar work; it also assigned Priority 2 to DPW Freightliner replacement and Priority 3 to 1821 Meeting House Clocktower Restoration. The committee recommended $36,185 for Senior Center furniture in FY27, contingent on passage of a town meeting override article.

Capital Stabilization Fund balances stood at $561,000 as of late February, while the Finance Committee proposed a temporary shift of annual police cruiser funding from operating to capital budget.
