Commission Approves Beach Access for Fire Department Training

Tri-Town Beach Commission · Meeting of March 10, 2026

DEERFIELD — Tri-Town Beach Commission approves beach access for Whately Fire Department underwater training. In a unanimous 3-0 vote, Co-Clerk Ken Cuddeback, Chair Patriciaann M. Telega, and member Annette Pfannebecker approved granting beach access for rescue training and underwater maintenance.

Chair Telega reviewed discussions with the fire department, noting winter ice provides ideal conditions for underwater rescue practice. The approved effort will address a longstanding maintenance need by removing steel debris from the water as part of the training.
