Deerfield Planning Board Endorses Wapping Road Lot Split, Elects New Clerk

DEERFIELD — January 5, 2026 — Deerfield Planning Board unanimously endorses a lot split on Wapping Road and elects Emily Gaylord as Clerk. The board voted 7-0 at its January 5 Zoom meeting to endorse an Approval Not Required plan submitted by Molenaar, LLC, dividing a single parcel at 0 Wapping Road into two lots by separating APR-protected farmland from the remainder of the property. In other business, Planning and Economic Development Coordinator Alexandria Galloway announced the town has signed a contract with the Conway School of Landscape Design, under which three graduate students will conduct a housing analysis from January through March 2026, with the findings intended to inform a mandatory update to Deerfield's Accessory Dwelling Unit bylaw and potential applications to the state's Housing Community of Choice grant program. Galloway also said she will explore One Stop grants to fund production of a new Master Plan. Gaylord, already serving as Vice Chair, was elected Clerk 7-0 after volunteering for the role, which Land Use Coordinator Amy Hahn described as light-duty. The board's next meeting is February 2, 2026.
