DEERFIELD — South County Senior Center proposes $451,269 budget for relocation to Sunderland. Jennifer Ferrara, Director, and Joyce Palmer-Fortune, Chair, presented the 2027 budget to the finance committees and select boards of Deerfield, Sunderland, and Whately. The $451,269 budget, a 189 percent increase from the prior year, is driven primarily by rent and electricity costs for the proposed move to 112 Amherst Road.
Deerfield's share rises 129 percent to $243,685. Public comment favored the Amherst Road location over an alternative at 8 Conway Street in Deerfield.
