Selectboard elects Gilmore chair; historic preservation projects win $146000

Deerfield Selectboard reorganizes with unanimous votes for new leadership. Blake Gilmore was elected Chair, Tim Hilchey Vice Chair, and Trevor McDaniel Clerk. The board unanimously approved three Community Preservation Fund agreements totaling $145,984: $136,000 for the 1821 Meeting House engineering study and clock tower restoration, $4,984 for the Old Deerfield Cemetery Association's Laurel Hill Historical Gravestone Preservation Project, and $5,000 for the Friends of Deerfield's Historic Tack Painting preservation and redisplay.
Town Administrator Christopher Dunne reported the Elm Street/Town Common project is paused for utility pole relocation discussions with Eversource.
