Deerfield selectboard finalizes May town meeting warrant with senior work-off program. The board voted unanimously to close the May 11 Annual Town Meeting warrant, adding a senior and veteran property tax work-off initiative allowing eligible residents aged 60 and older or military veterans to reduce their annual tax burden by up to $1,500 through town service. The selectboard also unanimously placed a Zero Emission Vehicle policy on the warrant to help the town qualify for vehicle and charging station rebates.
Board members Tim Hilchey, Trevor McDaniel, and Blake Gilmore approved an updated South County Emergency Medical Service Chief job description and authorized Town Administrator Christopher Dunne to post the vacancy, and accepted Morgan Farrick's transition from full-time to per diem status, effective after May 5.
