Selectboard approves two liquor license transfers and property sale

Deerfield Selectboard approves liquor license transfers for two local establishments. The board unanimously cleared transfer of an on-premises all-alcoholic beverage license from Magic Wings, Inc. to Magic Events, LLC at 281 Greenfield Road, with new owner Victoria Tubs, who is TIP certified and plans to use the license for events. The board also unanimously approved multiple license-related changes at The Tavern Sports Bar, 2C Elm Street, as Missy Clark, with 20 years of management experience and Serve Safe certification, acquires a 50 percent stake.
In separate votes, the board unanimously approved the sale of a 0.184-acre surplus parcel on Jewett Avenue to ORAFOL Americas Inc. for $50,000, and voted 2-1 to approve a $0.0116-per-kilowatt-hour electricity rate increase with First Point Power, LLC.
