Selectboard approves liquor license; updates town on grant opportunities

DEERFIELD — Selectboard approves malt-wine license for Yankee Candle Girls' Night Out. The three-member Deerfield Selectboard unanimously approved the one-day license for the May 7 event from 5:00-8:00 pm. Town Administrator Christopher Dunne reported the town earned Rural and Small-Town Housing Community of Choice designation, eligible for grant funding.

Town Planner Alex Galloway highlighted a potential $500,000 Capital Improvement Grant available through May 4 for South Deerfield Wastewater Treatment Plant upgrades and infrastructure work, with options for private septage acceptance or sewer and drain improvements. Upcoming events include a bike ride for the Friends of the Franklin County Regional Dog Shelter on June 27 and a rootstock racing relay event on September 19.
