MVP committee reviews federal watershed funding reduction

Deerfield MVP committee addresses federal watershed funding cuts. The Municipal Vulnerability Preparedness committee unanimously approved prior meeting minutes and discussed NRCS PL566 Small Watershed Program funding reduced from over $900 million to approximately $43 million, remaining available through September 30th. Carolyn Shores Ness reported the funding status; the committee plans a three- to five-year timeline in partnership with the Franklin Conservation District.
The group scheduled a January 27th public information session on the Bloody Brook and Sugarloaf Watershed project led by GZA and will review the ECO OneStop grant application on February 12th.
