Library trustees approve $291,311 FY2027 budget with 17.28% increase

Library Board of Trustees · Meeting of February 11, 2026

DEERFIELD — Tilton Library trustees unanimously approve $291,311 FY2027 budget with major increase. Chair Kathy O'Rourke and Library Director Candace Bradbury-Carlin reported meeting with the Department of Public Works and Town Administrator regarding the 17.28 percent increase, driven by the library's assumption of $4,280 in facilities costs previously covered by DPW. Trustees cautioned that a budget cut would result in loss of approximately $15,000 in state aid, CWMARS membership, and grant eligibility.

The library's opening has been delayed to July due to elevator part supply chain issues caused by tariffs; the grand opening is now scheduled for early October, coinciding with the end of the Capital Campaign.
