Library Board recommends Library Assistant position in new budget
Library Board of Trustees · Meeting of January 7, 2026
DEERFIELD — Tilton Library Board of Trustees unanimously recommends budget adding staffing hours. The board voted to approve Option 2, which adds $5,856 for six additional hours per week of Library Assistant support, bringing the total budget increase to 13.91 percent. Director Candace Bradbury-Carlin attributed the increase to rising costs for the new building's electricity, HVAC maintenance, and elevator service.
The board also unanimously approved the library's Video Game Usage Policy and confirmed the library will open January 12, with an opening celebration set for January 10. Fundraising efforts have surpassed $1.5 million, with the Annual Appeal at $60,000.
