Finance Committee unanimously backs Elm Street sidewalk project

DEERFIELD — Finance Committee unanimously advances Elm Street sidewalk project. The committee voted 5-0-0 to recommend Article 16 to Town Meeting, authorizing the town to acquire space occupied by utility poles along a sidewalk at an estimated cost of $10,000, to be funded through Chapter 90 funds or a Complete Streets grant. The Select Board also approved the recommendation unanimously.
Chair Julie Chalfant reported that electronic voting devices for the annual Town Meeting would cost approximately $21,680 for 500 devices.
