DEERFIELD — Finance Committee hears presentation on Senior Center relocation options and costs. South County Senior Center Director Jennifer Ferrara presented two sites under primary consideration: renovations to 8 Conway Street in South Deerfield or a 20-year lease at 112 Amherst Road in Sunderland. The Sunderland option is estimated at $168,000 for a FY27 lease with basic renovations, plus $500,000 for a future commercial kitchen installation within two to three years.
Deerfield's 54 percent share of the total FY27 building and operating cost of $442,912 would be $239,173, an increase of $132,640 from the current budget, with an estimated annual tax impact of $50 per household.
