Deerfield prioritizes culverts in $545,000 flood mitigation project. The Municipal Vulnerability Preparedness Group unanimously voted to prioritize the Pleasant Street and Captain Lathrop culverts as part of a $545,000 Bloody Brook restoration project spanning two to three years, to be submitted as part of the town's MVP ECO OneStop grant application. Denise Mason moved the prioritization, with Tim Hilchey seconding, and all six group members present voted yes.
The project, developed in partnership with the Franklin Conservation District and Bound Design, would restore the town-owned portion of Bloody Brook between North Main and the train trestle, with most grant funding coming from MVP rather than requiring a local match.
