Deerfield approves Stillwater Bridge easement by eminent domain

Deerfield board approves bridge infrastructure easement acquisition and 1888 Building funding. The Selectboard unanimously voted to acquire permanent easements on Great River Hydro-owned parcels along Upper Road for the Stillwater Bridge replacement project, authorized under Article 13 of the April 2025 annual town meeting, with Chair Trevor McDaniel authorized to execute all necessary documents and award $1,600 in damages to affected property owners. The board simultaneously voted unanimously to approve a $10,000 contract amendment with Kuhn Riddle Architects for additional 1888 Building design services.
South County Emergency Medical Services Director Joshua Sparks' resignation takes effect June 25, 2026.
